Hartford Institute Scholars Research Seminar

Now Accepting Applications for the 2010 Program!

The Summer Scholars program is a week-long, intensive, summer seminar held at the New York University College of nursing. It is an in-depth mentoring experience with nationally recognized gerontologic nursing researchers.

Goals

  • To foster successful programs of gerontologic research with significant implications for practice
  • To assist in the refinement of a program of significant research
  • To hone specific research skills and gain a competitive edge for funding
  • Engaged in discussion and critical analysis of a variety of research programs
  • Advanced and refined an individual program of research
  • Refined skills and knowledge in specific areas of research

Objectives: By the end of the program, Scholars will have:

  • Affiliation with a sponsoring university or healthcare institution
  • Demonstrated potential for outstanding gerontologic research
  • Completed accredited doctoral degree
  • Demonstrated potential for outstanding gerontologic research
  • Recommendation from a senior faculty member or healthcare administrator
  • Opportunity to pursue research in the future

Selection:
12 scholars are chosen by competitive application process annually.  Applications for the 2010 program are now available.
