IS THE
PARTNERSHIP ?
The
Hartford Institute
for Geriatric Nursing is creating partnerships with
baccalaureate nursing
programs to infuse best nursing practices in care of older
adults into
nursing education in order to assure that elders across the
country age
with optimal function, comfort, and dignity.
WHAT IS
THE HARTFORD
INSTITUTE FOR GERIATRIC NURSING?
The
Hartford Institute
for Geriatric Nursing (Institute) is the only nursing-
focused
institute in the country setting a national agenda and shaping
the care
for elderly Americans by promoting the highest level of
competency in
the nurses who deliver that care.It
is located at the Division of Nursing of New
York University
and is funded by The John A. Hartford
Foundation, Inc.
of New York.

Hartford Institute

programs to improve Geriatric Nursing expertise by providing a
two-part
program that is adaptable to your specific school’s
needs.

Ready-Made Materials:
The
Hartford Institute provides fully-organized faculty workshop
designs and
curriculum lesson plans that range from 20 minutes to two-day
formats AND
ready-made materials such as curriculum guides, teaching slides,
and videos,
to promote easy and effective dissemination of knowledge and
skill development
in best nursing practices in care for older adults.
2.Adapt
the Material to Your Needs:
You,
as a leader, take this material and use it in ways that are most
effective
for your specific educational purposes.

in Technical Assistance Activities:
The
Institute provides
phone consultation, a listserv, and an optional meeting to
support communication
among all the partners.

- Discounted to $300 if a member of AACN, NGNA, NNSDO,
GSA, ASA, AGS, NLN or associated with New York State PICs
- FREE to New York City HHC affiliates and to New York
City nursing school programs. $200 for all other NYC health
facilities because of grant support from the New York City
Council
- FREE to NICHE participating facilities - $750 retail

a partner
and commitment of coordinator and school.
